Why does water mist appear on the protective lens of the laser cutting machine?

In the process of using the laser cutting machine, many customers will ask, when the quality of laser cutting is unstable, when checking the problem, it will be found that there will be a layer of water mist on the surface of the protective lens. When it is wiped dry, the use time If it is not very long, the cutting quality will be unstable, and it will be more complicated. What is the reason for this?
Under normal circumstances, the laser cutting machine needs auxiliary gas when cutting. Common auxiliary gases are divided into three types: nitrogen, oxygen and air.

There are more phenomena in the process of customer use. When using air cutting, the situation of protecting the lens with water mist is more concentrated, and the source of air is mainly an air compressor. When the air is provided for the cooling and cleaning effect of the laser lens or the cutting lens, it is to prevent pollutants from being reflected from the air nozzle, but the air contains a lot of moisture and impurities. If the purification treatment is not done, it will cause great harm to the optical components, especially the harm of moisture.

    The air pipe used to blow air is very close to the focusing lens. If there is water, it is easy to spray on the focusing lens when spraying through the air outlet. The focusing lens has a temperature when it is working, and it will condense when exposed to water, and astigmatism will appear, resulting in insufficient laser focusing intensity and accuracy, which will seriously affect the cutting quality. After a long time, the focusing lens will easily break. Therefore, it is necessary to configure a dryer to cooperate with an air compressor to filter and drain water, but not all dryers can guarantee the use of laser gas.

From this point of view, the dryer is the culprit of the water mist during the laser cutting process, so how do we choose the desiccant supporting the laser cutting machine? The common dryers on the market are mainly refrigerated and adsorption two types:
  1. Refrigerated dryer: Due to technical limitations, refrigerated dryers are generally used for compressed air that is not demanding. Because the pressure dew point of the cold dryer can only reach 3 degrees Celsius, it cannot meet the dryness requirements of the laser cutting machine.
   2. Adsorption dryer: If there is no liquid water at the air outlet, you can only choose an adsorption dryer. The pressure dew point of the core adsorption dryer can continuously and stably reach minus 40 degrees Celsius, and the highest can reach minus 80 degrees Celsius, which can fully meet the needs of laser cutting processing.
  The purpose of using air is to save costs, but while saving costs, you must not choose too bad air compressors and dryers, otherwise the instability of cutting will lead to waste of materials and cause greater losses.
