What is the classification and classification basis of laser generators?

Updatetime: 2021-09-02 15:25View:
As we all know, a laser generator refers to a device that can emit laser light. The light quality of the laser generator is pure and the spectrum is stable, which can be used in many ways. It is precisely because of the wide range of applications that there are many classifications of laser generators, and the applicable fields of laser generators of different classifications are also different. So do you know the classification and classification basis of lasers?

The laser generator in the laser cutting machine is a very important part. What exactly is a laser? A laser refers to a device that can emit laser light. The light quality and spectral stability emitted by the laser can be used in many ways. It is precisely because of the application. Extensive, there are many classifications of lasers. When you buy a laser cutting machine, you don't know how to choose a laser that suits your machine. Then let's talk about how to choose a laser. What are the more common types?

There are five common types of lasers, which can be distinguished by working material, output power, working mode, output wavelength, and pulse width.

1. According to the working substance

The working material of the laser generator includes gas laser, liquid laser and fixed laser. The specific working material determines the laser wavelength, output power and application field. The representative gas is CO2 gas laser, and the representative solid state includes ruby laser, semiconductor laser and fiber laser, YAG laser and so on.

2. According to output power:

It can be divided into low-power lasers (0-100W), medium-power lasers (100-1KW), and high-power lasers (above 1KW); but sometimes 100-1.5KW.
The range is defined as medium power. Different power lasers adapt to different application scenarios.

3. According to the working method:

Can be divided into continuous laser and pulsed laser. CW lasers can continuously output for a long period of time, work stably, and have high thermal effects. Pulsed lasers output in the form of pulses. The main characteristics are high peak power and small thermal effects. According to the length of the pulse, pulsed lasers can be further divided into milliseconds, microseconds, nanoseconds, picoseconds and femtoseconds. Generally speaking, the shorter the pulse time , The higher the single pulse energy, the narrower the pulse width, and the higher the processing accuracy.

4. According to output wavelength:

It can be divided into infrared laser, visible light laser, ultraviolet laser and so on. Materials with different structures can absorb light in different wavelength ranges. For example, metals have a higher absorption rate of near-infrared light.

5. Pulse width:

It can be divided into millisecond laser generator, microsecond laser, nanosecond laser, picosecond laser, femtosecond laser, etc.

The above content refers to the common classifications of lasers and which aspects are their main advantages. Choose a laser cutting machine according to your own actual situation.
