When many customers buy a cnc router machine, the sales staff of the factory will ask whether to use a voltage of 380V or a voltage of 220V. Many customers do not understand the difference between three-phase 380V and two-phase 220V. Today we talk about how to choose the voltage of the cnc router machine ?
Three-phase electricity, also known as industrial electricity, is 380V alternating current, which is widely used in work and production. In normal daily life, most of the single-phase electricity is used, which is usually called lighting electricity. Household electricity is 220V, which is what people often use. Speaking of two-phase electricity, in fact, its technical term is single-phase electricity.

We all know that three-phase electricity is industrial electricity, the voltage is 380V, and consists of three live wires; the two-phase electricity is civil electricity, the voltage is 220V, and it consists of a live wire and a neutral wire. Every line of 380V is live. It is especially reminded to ask advanced electricians for wiring. Don't try your best, otherwise the consequences will be very serious. 220V is the phase voltage, that is, a neutral wire and a live wire. The most intuitive difference between three-phase electricity and single-phase electricity: single-phase electricity is generally two wires or three wires, and three-phase electricity is generally four wires in daily electricity use, which is what people often call three-phase four-wire. However, it was gradually upgraded to three-phase five-wire, that is, on the basis of the three-phase four-wire system, an additional ground wire was added.

The power consumption of cnc router machine is mainly divided into drive power supply and spindle power supply

The driving power supply is to supply power for the smaller power electrical components such as the driver, transformer, switching power supply, fan and so on of the CNC engraving machine. The X-axis, Y-axis, Z-axis, and rotation axis of the cnc router machine use the drive power. The driving power of most  cnc router machine on the market is 220V.
The spindle power supply supplies power to the spindle. We often say that the machine chooses three-phase power or two-phase power, 380V or 220V, which is the choice of spindle power supply. The spindle power supply supplies power to the inverter, and the inverter drives the spindle to rotate. The role of the spindle on the machine is very important. The tool is clamped on the spindle, and the spindle rotates to drive the tool to rotate to cut and engrave the material.

If you have three-phase power in your factory or home, you can simply choose three-phase power. Because the three-phase electricity is industrial electricity, the three live wires are stable, have sufficient power, and can support the work of high-power electrical appliances. If the spindle power is small, such as 0.8KW, 1.5KW, 2.2KW, 3KW, 220V single-phase power can also be selected.
For spindles with 4.5kw and 5.5kw and greater power, it is recommended to choose 380V three-phase power first. If conditions do not permit it, it is indeed difficult to connect to three-phase power. You can choose 220V single-phase power. This requires communication with the manufacturer of the  in advance, and "additions" to the spindle during power distribution, such as improving the wiring quality of the stator coil, choosing a reasonable winding method, and setting the parameters of the inverter reasonably. The "addition" is done well, the main shaft of the machine is in practice, compared with three-phase electricity and single-phase electricity, there is little difference. The "addition" is not well done, and the difference between three-phase power and single-phase power is still relatively large.
