How to clean the laser cutter lens

    In the cutting process, the auxiliary gas of the laser cutter is essential! We often use oxygen and nitrogen, of course, the higher the gas purity, the better the cutting quality. There are also many customers who want to save costs and use air cutting. However, during the cutting process, there is always fine water mist on the protective lens, and the cutting quality is poor.
    The role of auxiliary gas
1. To blow off the residue to achieve the best cutting effect;
2. It can effectively achieve the effect of smooth cutting surface, no burrs, and no slag hanging, which belongs to micro cutting;
3. Use gas to blow away the metal slag to protect the lens and prevent the slag from sticking to the lens and affecting the cutting quality;
4. It can react with materials and increase cutting speed. For example, the use of oxygen can achieve the support effect of combustion.
    Although air can be used as an auxiliary gas, because the air contains water and oil, if it is not treated, it will cause lens pollution, the cutting head will be unstable, and the cutting effect and quality will not meet the standard. Therefore, when using air cutting, it is necessary to equip the fiber laser cutter with a cold dryer to better solve this problem. The cold dryer can forcibly cool the compressed air below the specified dew point temperature, condense the large amount of water vapor and oil mist contained in it into droplets, and then discharge the compressed air out of the machine through gas-liquid separation to dry the compressed air.
    Cleaning steps for lens protection of laser cutter:
    The protective lens material is ZnSe (zincate arsenide), so it is brittle and afraid of falling; care must be taken when disassembling: do not use too much force, and do not collide with hard objects. When cleaning the laser cutter to protect the lenses, be sure to use clean wipes and optical grade solvents to prevent damage from other contaminants. Since most contaminants and surface defects are relatively small in size, it is often necessary to use magnifying equipment when inspecting the lens.
    Instead, you can use gloves and special devices. For smaller lenses, it is more convenient to use optical tweezers or vacuum tweezers. No matter what method is used to clamp the fiber laser cutter to protect the lens, it can only be clamped along the non-glossy surface, such as the frosted edge of the lens edge. The wipe paper must be moistened with a suitable solvent, not dry. Considering the softness, the usable wipe paper is pure cotton wipe paper or coated paper, such as cotton ball, lens paper, cotton swab and so on. In addition to magnifying equipment, it is sometimes necessary to illuminate the optical surface with a relatively bright beam to enhance the specular reflection intensity of surface contaminants and defects, so that contaminants and defects can be found more easily.
